The Radiation Safety Committee was established to serve as a review and approval body
for the use of licensed radioactive materials, x-ray generating equipment and other ionizing radiation-producing devices used for university research or teaching purposes. Committee oversight is to ensure activities are in compliance with local, State and Federal regulations.

Completed two regulatory-mandated radiation safety program reviews with no significant findings identified.
Successfully navigated two external audits performed by the NMED Radiation Control Bureau which reviewed regulatory compliance of activities authorized under two Radioactive Material licenses issued to NMSU by the bureau.
One new member was appointed to the committee after another member left NMSU.
