CADRe welcomed our new VPR July 2018 and hit the ground
running. During the first meeting, Luis Cifuentes emphasized
the increased responsibility of each Associate Dean for
Research to discover gaps and promote communication in
interdisciplinary research opportunities. Each college associate
dean presented their contributions to ensuring significant
levels of cooperation and collaboration in research endeavors.
Luis Cifuentes presented his "Road to R1" and strategic outline
for how CADRe will take accountability and responsibility
towards the University's goal to become a Carnegie R1
Research Institution. CADRe nominated faculty to participate
in the inaugural term of the PI Academy. Members of CADRe
also provided input and influenced the comprehensive PI
development and training curriculum. Ideas are currently
being created by CADRe members for implementing
structures toward student social mobility and R1 status, as is
outlined in the Chancellor/President LEADS 2025 Plan
