Purpose:

Oversees assessment of student learning in General Education for the Las Cruces Campus in accordance with requirements set forth by the university (through the GE Course Certification Committee) or the state.

Authority:

Advisory to the provost, reporting through the associate provost for curriculum and assessment.

Chair: No chair currently. The committee's activities were temporarily paused due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Process for selecting chair: Chair is selected by the voting membership

What university function/office is responsible for future appointments? Committee members are appointed to three-year terms by college deans at the request of the Associate Provost for Curriculum and Assessment.

How often will this board or committee meet? Typically three times per semester, though this was paused during much of the 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years.
